Jeffrey Norton

Artist

I'm an attorney, legal consultant, adjunct law professor, and a self-taught artist. My journey into painting is relatively recent. While I've always been creative and enjoyed doodling, I only began painting in the last several years—and it has truly transformed my life.

Whether painting, drawing, building, or experimenting with new mediums, creativity provides me with focus, peace of mind, and solitude for an otherwise very active and noisy mind. My artistic journey is driven by endless curiosity, empathy, a passion for learning, and the ability to find inspiration in both the ordinary and the artistic brilliance of others. I don’t have a signature style (at least not that I can tell), as I enjoy experimenting with different forms of expression. However, I’m particularly drawn to figurative subjects blended with abstract and surreal elements—I love bringing the human form to life on canvas. Most of my work is done with acrylics, though I’ve recently started exploring oil painting.

I live in Connecticut with my wife and two dogs, and have two grown kids launched (mostly) and starting off on their own life adventures. Beyond art, I enjoy DIY projects, yoga, exercise, rowing, skiing, tennis, live music, people watching, and word puzzles.
